What is massage therapy?
Massage therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body (muscles, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments) using various techniques to help alleviate stress in different areas of the body. Massage therapy involves treating the body with pressure, tension, and motion done by the therapist. This treatment has therapeutic effects on the body, helping to relieve muscle tension as well as promoting relaxation and well-being.
Massage therapy has undeniable results for the relief of a variety of discomfort stemming from stress, muscle overuse, and many chronic pain syndromes. Treatments can provide quicker recovery from accident-related pain conditions, such as whiplash, as well as helping to restore full range of motion to joints after an injury or surgery.
At HYM Fam, our massage therapists incorporate various techniques to tailor to our clients’ needs. All our therapists are members of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). We believe that massage therapy is important to better health and our main objective is to make sure all our clients feel better when they walk out.
